BACKGROUND:
The fleet units listed below were reviewed and approved by the Fleet Economic Committee and Fleet Services Manager for replacement in 2026, 2027 and 2028. Vehicles are scored for replacement based on four criteria: age, usage, condition and repair costs. Recommending a vehicle for replacement requires a score of 28.0 or greater.

DISCUSSION:
The units listed above are used daily by the Fire Department - Operations Division to respond to fire and other emergency calls throughout the City.

These units are planned for replacement in 2026, 2027 and 2028. Backlogged demand, delayed component availability and other factors have rapidly filled fire apparatus build slots, significantly increasing order-to-delivery timeframes. Build slots for engine pumpers exceed two years. The build slots for platform trucks are four years. A purchase order is required to secure build slots with the manufacturer and hold current pricing. The vendor has assured staff that our delivery timeframes will remain as planned even if their build capacity improves. This will ensure that the purchases can be appropriately budgeted across three fiscal years.

The three retired vehicles will be sold through the City's auction service provider.

Units 315 and 319 will be replaced with current model year Pierce Enforcer Fire Engine Pumpers. Unit 321 will be replaced with a current model year Pierce Velocity 100' Fire Platform Truck. Units ar...
